Caterham F1 titanium wheel nut retainer Formula 1 motorsport engineering racing gift ideal desk paperweight or display item

Race used 2013 Caterham F1 part.

A highly unusual and interesting example of the exceptionally high level of engineering that goes into a modern F1 car.

Made from titanium this part allows the wheel nut to be quickly guided into place during a pit stop (hence the marks on it!), the spring loaded lugs then act as a retaining mechanism to prevent the nut from coming loose whilst the car is out on track.

Measures approx 2.25" / 55mm in diameter

Supplied with an information card, this explains what the part is, which team it's from and which drivers would have originally used it.

It has also been engraved (by the Caterham F1 team) with it's own unique part numbers & batch code, this allowed the team & engineers to keep track of what parts were fitted to the cars at any given time.

Would also give the new owner a great talking point if display on their desk or in their home.
