Niki lauda wins from pole at the Monaco GP in 1976 in the Ferrari 312T. A3 300 gsm print.

This a painting of Niki Lauda as he wins from pole the 1976 Grand Prix at Monaco in the Ferrari 312T2.

Lauda won by 11 seconds over Jody Scheckter driving the six-wheeled Tyrrell P34, whilst Scheckter’s teammate,

Patrick Depailler, completed the podium in third.

Niki Lauda was the first World Champion I remember so I wanted to paint him in a Ferrari and this image of him at Monaco

shows him as I remember him ... Number 1 in a Ferrari.

Description

I painted this painting in a style to capture the atmosphere of the race while being dynamic and exciting.
Painted in acrylic on canvas I use pallet knives and brushes so the painting has both atmosphere and a freeness which I wanted to depict.

Niki Lauda is one of my favourite racers both for his speed and inteligence and I think he was almost unbeatable in his Ferrari years.
