The first chapter is written

Farfus’s tryst with speed began when, as a 6-year old, he began riding mini-motorcycles in Curitiba. After impressing on two wheels, it was obvious that he possessed a burning passion for speed which prompted to switch to kart racing in 1992 and his talent soon shone through with him winning the Paranaense title in his debut season.

"I have learned a lot, been able to demonstrate my speed, and even challenged for the title. It has been an amazing time."

In the light of several successful campaigns over the years, across Brazil, Farfus relocated to Italy in 1999 and joined the official CRG team and immediately began to add on to his tally of wins and titles. The then 16-year old, immediately found his stride racing single seaters and began contesting in the European and Italian Formula Renault Championships with CRAM Competition, an Italian team. The following year, racing for RC Motorsport he soon became the European Champion in 2001 and went on to secure the European Formula 3000 crown in 2003 with the Draco Racing Team.

Having excelled at racing single seaters, in 2004, Farfus got his touring car break with Alfa Romeo and piloted their 156 GTA S2000 to a 6th place finish in the ETCC. In the following year, he also managed to secure 4th and 3rd places in the 2005 and 2006 WTCC races, respectively. These results earned him a spot at BMW, and he has been an integral part of their line-up since 2007, with major victories including 1st place finishes at 24h Nürburgring (BMW M3 GT2) and Dubai events (BMW Z4 GT3), second place at the 2013 DTM and the pole at the 2018 SJM Macau GT Cup (BMW M6 GT3)

At the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2020 season-opener, exactly one year after his first and very emotional victory at the 2019 Daytona 24 Hours, Augusto Farfus celebrated another perfect start to the racing season. At the wheel of the #24 BMW M8 GTE along with teammates Jesse Krohn, John Edwards and Chaz Mostert, after 786 laps and more than 40 lead changes, the BMW Team finished first in in the GTLM class adding another chapter to his success story.
