Porsche 959 Dakar driven - Jacky Ickx & Claude Brasseur

The Porsche 959 is a sports car produced by Porsche. It appeared in 1983 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the form of a prototype, the 911 Group B. Shortly before, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) had changed its regulations to encourage manufacturers to compete: it did not it took more than two hundred copies to market to be able to take part in Group B competitions. Interested in this change, Porsche developed a road version of the 959 with the aim of serving as a technological showcase for the brand, without worrying about the final cost of the car.
The 959 will be followed by the 911 GT1 Straßenversion in 1996, then by the Carrera GT in 2003, then by the Porsche 918 in 2013.
